The Civil War & Sewing

Starting Monday, October 19th from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., the Public Library of Enid & Garfield will be hosting a new kind of sewing circle.  At Aunt Bea’s Reading & Sewing Circle you can not only learn to hand quilt, but also get to know people while listening to a good book & doing something for others.  All you need is a thimble!

Aunt Bea’s will teach you the art of hand quilting while you’re read to from Shelby Foote’s Civil War narrative.  If you’re not able to make every Monday morning session, don’t worry; you already know how the war turns out.  Aunt Bea promises that long before the war is over, you will be a great hand quilter!  The quilt tops are donated & will be sold after completion with the proceeds going to the Library.

If you don’t want to quilt, come and read to the group.  If you don’t know how to quilt, come and learn.  If you don’t want to quilt or read, come and listen!
