this is my complaining post about the photographer i had take pics of me and my son – I’d post her website but i don’t really want to encourage her to have business at all due to the poor practices I’ve experienced. I really hate liars.   hate.   despise.   loathe.   so…we got our pictures taken. via email communication we had agreed on a price $75, we had agreed on locations, we had agreed on time.  I had been told I would be given at least 50 shots and there would be picture taking for at least an hour. I would get those pictures, high quality so I could enlarge and do stuff, on a CD.   we meet. we take pictures. she starts saying things like “well we agreed to 40, right?” and no I didn’t then go NO YOU SAID 50 I just kinda mumbled…cause i hate when people lie. and i hate having to point out YOU ARE A BIG FAT LIAR. and maybe   maybe   I forgot. right?   I pay her. lesson never pay the whole thing at once. you know what’s bad I actually put 80 in cause I had that saved and didn’t take the time to get change. grr at me.   so she says ok it will take 3-6 weeks to get you a CD.  I’m hoping 3 weeks. there is some movement…pictures are posted on her facebook fast.  then a few more.  none on her website. finally 4 are posted. 4 when everyone else gets like 10-12.  I figure ok clearly she wants to focus on weddings and such so I’m bottom of totem pole.  9.12 I get an email saying they are posted on her website to browse and please send my address.  that’s a little over the 6 week mark.    but yay…I’m going to get them. I hurridly send my address. asking some questions about enhancements.    no response   I go to her website. there are free downloads. I download them. I get them printed. they suck. seriously. the pictures are fuzzy. any I tried to enlarge didn’t work. I can’t crop. great I’ve gotten a pack of sucky pictures. for 75 80 bucks. I hear nothing. watch the mail everyday. see her posting other people’s pictures. no response to my questions. no cd.   I email  yesterday 9.27 (so 14 days after the email asking for my address)  asking “where is my cd and will the quality be better when I get them?” I get an email that says “you should get it this week, please send an email with your address so I know I sent it to the right place” well you know what? I haven’t moved. I gave you one address. its still the same. I can’t imagine you have even sent them OR THEY WOULD BE HERE. you are only in texas and i’m in UTah. that’s like 5 states away. I send stuff across the country all the time and it doesn’t take a week. and why don’t you answer my questions? are these pictures going to be any better?   lessons: 1. don’t pay it all up front 2. hold people to their word, they agreed to X you get X 3. its not my job as the person being photographed to find spots or know if those spots allow photography 4. liars suck wait I already knew number 4 its just reiterated to me   as a beginning business person I think it would behoove you to be honest. if you didn’t mail it, you didn’t. ok say that. don’t say stupid things like “send your address so I can confirm its correct” or “you’ll get it this week” and stinkin’ apologize for not sending it! you know what’s the worst? I used to read her website. on there she posts about how all religious she is and stuff.   yeah well I’m thinking that whole DON’T LIE thing…should be right up there at the top of living your religion.   liars.   grrrrrr
